How does Elysion laser hair removal work?
Using a specific wavelength of light that is selectively absorbed by the melanin surrounding the hair follicle, the laser is applied to the skinThe generated heat is conducted down to the base of the follicle and coagulates or cuts of the blood flow to the follicle. At the same time the specific Elysion “cool freeze” technology cools the skin to protect and avoid any damage to the surrounding skin. The hair will be destroyed and removed permanently and over the next week will fall out leaving the skin hair free and smooth.
Laser hair removal treatment works by means of selective photothermolysis which is based on the selective destruction of the hair follicle, protecting, as much as possible, the surrounding structures: the epidermis and the dermis.
How many treatments are required?
Any visible hair is removed with each treatment. For the very best results, a course of treatments is required. Laser hair removal is only effective on hairs in the growing stage or visible on the skin. At any one time only 70% of hairs in the skin are dormant and not visible on the surface. Therefore for maximum clearance additional treatments are required for each phase of hair growth.
Our Elysion technology is a high powered, yet pain free treatment that requires less treatments and is far less painful than older IPL or lasers. For a vast majority of previous clients using this laser hair removal machine, the smooth and silky results achieve maximum clearance in just 6 sessions. This saves you time and money.
Treatments are scheduled 6-8 weeks apart as you wait for the next phase of hair growth to appear on the surface. You will be hair free in between treatments.

How does it feel and is it painful?
Most clients find the treatment comfortable. This is because our Elysion laser system, incorporates advanced integrated cooling. Its patented ‘cool freeze’ skin cooling technology, keeps the skin at a cool temperature throughout treatment, protecting the skin. Due to the dynamic mode set up within the laser, you are ensured a treatment with just very minimal discomfort.
Who is suitable for laser hair removal treatment?
Elysion laser can treat most skin types effectively and safely, including sometimes dark skin types and even tanned skin. It is important to note that we have varying degrees of success with blonde and ginger / red hair. We will always advise on the liklihood of success before your course in order for you to have realistic expectations. Some men, ladies and transgender, with these particular colour hair follicles or skin types, do get reasonable results. However, the results do not tend to be consistently good, which is explained to you prior to paying for any treatment.
During your consultation and patch test, we will ask you to complete a full health questionnaire to identify any contraindications If you suffer from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) we can treat effectively, but you will require ongoing maintenance treatment
Your treatment plan and Prices
The first step is to book a free consultation so we can assess your suitability and answer any questions you may have. You will then receive a very clear costing based on the area and time taken for treatment. See our price list for a guideline. Our prices are lower than other clinics who use older, slower laser technology, as opposed to our highly specified laser for hair removal by Elysion. Prior to beginning your treatment course we will perform a test patch. A patch test is needed to ensure no adverse reactions. You may then book your first treatment after 24 hours. Treatment sessions will be scheduled approximately 8 weeks apart.
